Hey guys I have ordered my shelby guage pod for my console in the mach. I am going to install the autometer sport comp oil pressure and water temperature guages in there. Now I need to know what size, the 2 1/16" or the 2 5/8" guages, will fit inside those pods nicely? Anybody know?

Awesome guys thanks. I tried measuring it but i didn't know where the measurements on the guages are taken and if they include the bezel and such so I just wanted to check. Now I have an electric oil sender unit, and just wanted to make sure that the temperature sensors require the electric guages not the mechanical. Sorry don't know too much about electronics first time getting involved with this.

Electric guages use electric sending units, but you'll want to check with guage manufacturer directly to see if your current sending unit will work with their electric guages. My guess is that it won't and you'll need to get a new sending unit.

Good luck.

Electric gauges should come with their own sending units, or instructions as to which sending unit to buy.

(the only electric gauges I have purchased have been voltmeters, always used mechanical water temp and oil pressure gauges in the past)

The VDO set I installed was all electrical (even the speedo) They came with the senders. The Autometer Pro Comps come with their own sender also. I had to get a brass 1/8" to 1/4" NPT adapter for the oil press sending unit. The water temp senser screwed right into the Edelbrock intake. No problem.

Can someone point me in the direction of the cheapest electrical fuel pressure/oil pressure/water temp dealer for autometer guages? Summitt has them, anyone cheaper?

Try these guys. I'm about to order a whole set to redo my gauge cluster with a little help from Edbert. But, Edbert tells me that he did his on his 67 and he used 2 5/8" gauges. Now I'm confused. Anyway, here you go:
