Update: Ran a 15.1 at 93mph, timeslip post below!

I am going to the track for my first time this Wednesday and was wondering what most of you think I am going to run, I have the said mods in my sig but the SFC's are not installed yet and to my knowledge I have a pretty good base setting to tune my suspension from. I am guestimating that I am putting about 220hp/287tq at the wheels after seeing 4 dyno sheets from people with very similar mods to me. I am running with the stock turbines and all weather tires, if I get hooked I will probably be in the market for some MT ET's but we will see.

Winner gets a prize!?

I have my launch down pretty good I hope, so what do you all think I will run...and what do you think a very good driver would run in my car?

EDIT: No weight reduction, full smog/ac, but i did take the spare tire out and will probably end up disconnecting the front sway.

Well last night was wicked fun, I only got one pass because we got there with 2hrs left and someone spilt oil down the whole track, I think I did pretty good for my first time...the car was detonating on the way home though because my header bolts came loose again. Here is what I got!

R/T: .687
60': 2.435
330': 6.506
1/8: 9.817
MPH: 74.13
1000': 12.715
1/4: 15.152
MPH: 92.68

I wonder how much HP/TQ im putting down, how did I do?

Given a few more passes no doubt you would have done better... My very first run was with similar mods and I ran a 9.8 in the 1/8th :nice:

Haha that is exactly what I ran, I think I need to work on my launch to get my 60' times down...I didn't spin at all but I probably could have pushed it harder.

Have you got 2.73's or 3.08's in that car? If so, you can take it up to just 1800-2500 rpm depending on the stickiness of the track and floor it. It may bog down, but you'll get the hang of it.

Now save up for some Street Strip tires (get 2 old d hole rims to put them on-don't use in rain) you'll really be laying it down. You'd be able to launch much higher with those :)

Oh yeah, did you ice down the intake? Before every run, get a 99 cent bag of ice and set it on the intake for a few minutes. When in the staging lanes, don't leave the car running. Turn it on just to move up, or take it out of gear to move up- be careful cause you won't have power brakes when the car is off. Also, make sure you have only a 1/4 of a tank of gas when you get there. Gas weighs A LOT. ;)

Thanks for the advice, I plan on getting 3.73's in there soon but it is a 5 speed so I think it has 2.73's now, after that I was thinking of getting DR's and 10 holes but the track is a solid 1hr 15min away from me so I don't know just how much I will be going there yet...if I start to go more then yea I will get some.

And as far as icing the intake, I want to shy away from doing things at the track I wouldn't be doing on the street, so that way people won't be like "Yea well you only ran that time because you did this and that and this and that." Now like I said, if I start to go up there more then yea I will disconnect my front sway and all that stuff.

I figured out the whole not leaving your car running part when I noticed noone else had theirs running, and I only had up to the first line on the gas guage, I cannot wait to go again!

Tach it up to about 3 and slip the clutch as you come out of it. If the street tires are any decent they will spin a little but grab fast. With the factory gears you need all the rpm you can get out of the hole, so keep it up there around 3 or so and use the clutch to control your wheelspin while you roll in the throttle. Get used to that and you'll light a 2.0 60'

Thank you! I wish I would have known that before hand...I didn't launch even close to 3 I don't think.

I am going to have to go down again really soon and get a full day out of it.
