General matenence... woot!

Is it wrong that I like doing this kind of stuff to my cars..?

Most everyone I know is like "damn, gotta change plugs..." or "eh, im too lazy to do the fuel filter", "oil changes are too messy...".

Me on the other hand, got bored and busted out the pipe cutter and re-did the exhaust on my Jeep the other day for no apparent reason.

Had fun doing the plugs and fuel filter on the Stang, same with tranny fluid and oil changes... I enjoyed install the MGW short throw...

I wish I could find a mechanic shop to start working at... that would be an awesome job for me.

Anyone else like wrenching on their own cars?

Man i do! Yeah i got lucky and found a mechanic job, its great bein 18 and havin a full time summer and part time school job! Not so bad when paying for stuff on the stang specially when you live with mommy and daddy

Sounds like were in the same position, cept im not working on cars as a job, yet...:bang:

One of my freinds landed a job at a local 4x4 shop. To be honest, I fricken envy it with all my heart. Hes got a lift, and all the tools needed for anything at his disposal.

I love to work on my car. Hell, I've adjusted my exhaust 3 times now (to change the position of the tips), and it took all 3 times before I was finally satisfied. I look forward to 3000 miles more on the odo :nice:
I just wish I had a lift and a ***** load of money in tools, so I could do EVERYTHING myself.

Hey don't feel bad man. I'm 22 and still live with mommy. Although, last year I made so much more money than her, I could have almost claimed HER as a dependent (she worked like......4 months out of the entire year).

I love working on my car and doing general matenence when I
am not busy or working lol.
This weekend I am changing my oil with some Mobil 1 and changing
my fuel filter woooot! :nice:

I need to re-adjust my exhuast too...but the stang's in the shop this weekend. I like working on cars....but there are many jobs I don't enjoy doing just cuz I don't have a lift and the work positions are so uncomfortable. Some things I just let shops do because its hard to find time to work on the car. Seems like most of my time goes to work....the wife....and the house. Although I do like working on my house too....and most of the work on the house is actually somewhat of an investment!

Ive got a new serpentine belt, fuel filter, and 4 qts of RP Synchromax planned for this weekend :nice:

be careful of the synchromax man... it made my T45 grind nonstop because it is too viscous and the gears could not mesh properly. I put in RP Max ATF and its nice and smooth now

I love working on my car as well. So far, I have done - oil changes, fuel filter, PI manifold install, shocks/struts, ball joints, tie rod ends, changed my midpipe 4 times, replaced miscellanous electronic parts, MGW install, U-joints, and a few other things. I loved every second (except when the driveshaft dropped on my nuts)

I like to work on my car. I do also do stuff sometimes that is not absolutely necessary (replacing exhaust hangers and what not) but I recently changed all my fluids except power steering, which I may do today. When I did my brake fluid flush, OMG what a difference. I guess that 7 year old brake fluid needed changing ... lol.

 Let me know how that RP Synchromax feels.. I really need to do that and a fuel filter on my car before I get it tuned. Maybe we could do it while installing LT's :D.... oh yeah, i'm ordering them next weekend .. No idea when they're gonna go on tho lol
