Pickin up some extra parts for the stang, What kind of horsepower do you think ill make?

347 CHP stroker short block
73mm MAF
65mm TB
Cobra Intake
Edelbrock Performer heads 2.02/1.6 valves
E-Cam
FMS shorty headers (unsure of size)
o/r X-pipe
Borla Exhaust
24lb injectors

I know its probably not the perfect combo, but right now im budget limited, I got a good deal on the heads/cam/injectors as a package. Cam might be sold/swapped for somethin else. As for the rest, Cant really afford to change.

Oh but he did have an intake spacer that supposedly cut horse power but increased low end torque. But I'm not sure the difference that would make.

if you haven't already bought that yet, and you want some advice, I would call up Ed Curtis and get a custom ground cam... i think they're like 320 bucks or sobut well worth it, there are guys here pushin around 310-20 rwhp on a stock 5.0! I can't even imagine with a 347. Just my .02. Even though you'll have to tune it a bunch to correct the idle, I personally don't think its worth it to halfazz it.

Although his cam and intake choice arent that great for a 347, It still does have 347ci and aluminum heads with 2.02 valves. I would say 320+ to the wheels. with better intake manifold and a custom cam that becme 380+!!!!

Like I said, Im on a pretty tight budget. I thought about getting a custom cam, but that is a bit out of my budget. The cam came as part of a package witht he heads and injectors for 950 bux. I might sell it in order to get a different one. As for the intake, it came with the car when I bought it. I think later on probably next year it will get swapped for an Edelbrock to match the heads.

Right now I just want to get the car on the road quick enough that I can drive it before the snow flies again.

You should PM Tmoss and see what pricing he has on porting your lower cobra that should really help the 347 inhale much better(it doesn't say whether or not it is or isn't) just a thought.

Even a 280* duration cam won't be too much for those cubes. Lift numbers should be studied in combination with the heads (P/V clearance) you'll have.

i too agree that the cam is your bottleneck, followed by the Cobra intake....

however the intake can be ported to flow pretty decent.

im guessing about 320rwhp as well....more with tuning and better cam and some intake work.

At least youll know what parts to change when it feels slow after a few months!!!

The intake definately needs the lower ported to let the cubes breath. I can help when the time comes. See the link in my signature.

What off the shelf cam should i go with? I know everyone says the customs are the best, but right now, its just not in the budget. If you are in the typing mood, how do you decide which cam is best?

Secondly, are the 24lb injectors big enough? How do you calibrate the MAF for them?

Tmoss, If I dont pick up a different intake all together, I plan on talkin to ya bout the porting.

I agree with everyone else. I would definitely get rid of that E-cam. I know your on a tight budget but you will pissed that you spend all this money and you don't get the power you want. A few hundred more and things will be much better. Sell that cam and get a custom and then get the lower ported by tmoss. As for the MAF is it a C&L? I don't know if you can send them in to get recalibrated. I know on the Pro-M you send them in and it's like $110. The 24# inj should be okay, I would get a FPR though.
