Guy wants to trade for my Cobra.

I'd stick with what you have...

Bigb64- Why would the 96 cobra be more rare than the 94 cobra??? Also, I don't know where you get your info, but your 96 cobra came from the factory with a live axle, the independent rear didn't debut until '99. The '96 cobra convertible was a mid to low 14 second car at best. They are a nice car though.

Great ride, Awsome power and it is MUCH RARER then any hoped up 94-95 except maybe the saleen 351R

Guess you never heard of the 95 cobra convertible hardtop or the '95 ford cobra R. I never heard of a saleen 351R... there is the S-351 though, and the VERY limited production S-351 widebody... did it even make production??? I know the president of the saleen club of america and I just sent him an email to set the record straight.

EDIT: I just heard back from him with the following info on the widebody...

Yes, they have made a few starting in '95 for the street cars if I am not mistaken.

I know of a handful of them.

1995- December 1999 production would have had the 351-SC power from Saleen.

Jan 2000 on street cars (Saleen SR) would have had a modified "E" motor rated at 505hp. (4.6l w/ the Gen V SC).

No cars were made during the lull of the 351 expiring and the "E" coming out.

The above should be correct, but I would have to check the Saleen book to double check.

Someone must have installed it before you bought it, and that is NOT a cheap swap to say the least. Too bad you didn't know, you could have charged more for it probably. No problem on the saleen... I wasn't sure either, at least now we both know! :nice:
