Anyone out there still running stock gears, or am I the only stupid one? I have a set of 3:73's waiting to go in. Just wondering if any of you guys are experiencing the same doggy low end I am. When I get above 2500 RPM, hold on. But it just seems a little slow on the low end. Also, how was the change when steeper gears were added?

i have stock gears, h/c/i, all that stuff you can see my mods in sig.About 2500 RPM's like you said i can hear it start to BREATH and pull alot harder. When you install those 3.73's it will feel like someone put another engine in your car without you knowing it............just wait you'll see.

I think he means people that have aftermarket or performance H/C/I combos, but still have the stock gears, not have all stock H/C/I/G

I had 2.73's in my car up until spring, it ran 13.71 at 106 last year with them. I now have 3.55's and it has run a best of 13.40 at 107 2.2 second 60' but now it just spins all the way through second. Got drag radials now and i'll find out how it does on wednesday. Hoping for 12's. Car feels WAY better with the gears, still gets 22mpg on the highway with the gears too.

if you are running the stock bottom end , switch back to the 19 lbs injectors and you should get some bottom end back , I was having the same problem and it was the 24 lbs injectors dumping way too much fuel ....put the stockers back in and it came to life .......I see you are running 30s which is way overkill

Believe it or not, but the 30's don't feel any different than the 19's which I just took out. I was having trouble with my 24's and the 30's with my crap C&L 73mm MAF. So, with the advice of Michael Yount, I swapped back in the 19's and the stock MAF until my new Pro-M 80mm came in cal'd for 30's. With the new meter and the 30's it drives and idles great. Power is there, but I wan't neck snapping jump from a stop till red line, not just top end. That is why I say the low end is soggy. I hate waiting for the power to kick in after 2500 RPM.

Unless its an aod,,then the best upgrade is a high speed stall

I dont know dude.......my 4.56's would probably be the better of my 3k stall. Plus you could always power brake and launch that way, even with the stock converter.

But that factory converter does suck much, I must say. I would shiftkit/converter at the same time to bring the AOD up to spec.

I couldnt power brake with my stock converter :notnice: Once I got the 2800converter installed the tires would go up in smoke with "no" brake and 273's :nice:
