i am planning on buying a new intake in a few months maybe a typhoon or a cobra, and i am wandering about heads,i have been thinkin of rebuilding my motor in the winter, but i dunno if i can afford it,the motor doesnt smoke or anything but i dunno wut i should do,i thought about h/c/i then later on rebuild it,wut would be a good head to go with either of the intakes i listed thats pretty cheap, and i need some advice on wut i should do,rebuild or buy h/c/i,cuz im on a really tight budget.im wantin around 300-325 hp if possible out a decent price range

smoking doesnt always mean you need a shortblock rebuilt. anyhow if there are no problems with the engine now, why waste the money on a shortblock. a shortblock 5.0 can last a loooong time. the best thing to do is upgrade your h/c/i first. you can the trick flow h/c/i package for like 2100 bucks. thats what i payed from summit. it comes with absoultely everything to complete the install and detailed instructions so the average joe can do it himself. that kit will give you almost 300 to the wheels

If you're making good oil pressure, just do the h/c/i and don't worry. As for parts selection........there's a lot. You can save a lot of money buying non-wear items like an intake, throttle body, MAF, cam, etc. used so keep that in mind.
