I've decided to build a 347 this winter. Only real problem I have is that I have already collected a lot of parts I was going to use to build a 306. I'm wondering what I can still use without limiting myself too much. Here's what I'm working with:

eddy rpm heads (1.90/1.60)
eddy performer intake
24 lb. injectors
155lph fuel pump
75mm maf
65mm tb
cam?
1 5/8" longtube headers

I really just want something that will run mid 12's with ease on 18's with drag radials, be well behaved on the street and think what I have will probably work. Figuring the engine won't see revs past 6200 rpm. What do you all think?

What you have is plenty for 12's with a 347. Your parts are VERY small for a 347 stroker, but you're not looking to go wild. At the vert least i'd go to a better manifold like a holley and a 75mm tb. Go custom on the cam with matching valve springs and have the height set. Mill the heads to get the compession up too.

Thanks for the response. Should have mentioned that I was figuring on ditching the performer upper for an RPM.

I say something like a holley manifold would be great for you. Use a 75mm tb too.

I used my trickflow TW heads from my 302 on my 347. I knew it wasn't the best way to go but financially it was. The key was using a GOOD manifold and custom cam.

What you listed should run 12's easy. Unless you are just looking for more or want to spend more you could just leave it at that (you can always get bigger or better its a never ending story, you just need to say "this is what I want" and leave it at that). Like grn92lx said before get the compression up also to make some power.

Just my opinion...

Why the Holley over the RPM? I thought they were more for boosted apps?

They work better than others N/A, and even more when boosted.

Because when cammed properly the holley manifold will outpower the rpm manifold on your engine.
