H pipe problems

I recently purchased a Mac off-road H pipe to replace the H pipe I had on at the time, a MAC O/R pipe that I had 2 cats welded up to for e-check.

I tried to put it on, but it was about 3 inches too short. I put it on top of the old MAC H pipe and yep, about 3 inches shorter. I ordered it from e-bay and it was supposed to be for a manual transmission, like I have. I think the rear exhaust I have on the car is for an automatic then. Are MAC H pipes for automatics longer?

So I had to put the old catted MAC H pipe back on. When I went to slide them over the studs on the ends of the longtubes, they wouldn't go! It appears the studs on the longtubes point outward and miss the holes in the H pipe clamp by about 1/16". How should I go about correcting this? Hammer the studs and hope they bend back into place? Can you take pliars and unscrew them and screw in new ones? I suspect they might be bent.

Any thoughts? (My #1 problem right now is getting the old H pipe back on)

If worst comes to worst for the studs on the heads take two nuts and thread them onto the studs. Tap on the flat sides of the nuts with a hammer. Since you only have to move them say a 16th of an inch I think that will work. I had to do that to the studs on my H pipe when I installed my Magnaflow cat back. other than that you will probably have to take the headers out to have them fixed.

The manual and automatic h-pipes are the same length but are just bent a little different for clearence issues. But people do all kind of weid things with exhaust, that could throw the lengths off and things like that. Good luck with it though and hope you figure it out....
