H-pipe question!!!

I just want to know why a mustang need a h-pipe or x-pipe and if it a bad idea if I not put one on my car a 5.0L 1990!!!Thx

If you're thinking of running straight pipes, then don't. What an H pipe (or X pipe) does is it balances out the exhaust pulses the engine makes....therefore, better scavenging and more power.
