Had AOD rebuilt.. good deal?

I can't rebuild a AOD myself, that out of the way...


The clutches and some other part that I guess never breaks, did.

So I had it rebuilt. Said it was a bit harder because I have LTubes.
I got a 1yr warr, rear main seal replaced, special additive, and fixed the shifter portion that lines up shifter with gears, and tax

Came out to $950 including everything

rebuild was like $700
warr $100
rear main $40
additive $20

To be honest my dad got it fixed in PA (LOT cheaper than NY)
He drove it and said it was really good.

Now my dad has had five foxbody mustangs.. and said it shifted better than any of them. It does Not have a shiftkit. The shop that did the rebuild said that the tranny looked different from most trannys found in the foxbody's

Most prices i've seen for a rebuild are in that ballpark, maybe even higher. A little concerned about the comment from the rebuild guy. What did he mean by that?
