Well, within the next 6 months I am planning on adding a pi intake and a set of 4.10's. I was just going to get the hypertech programmer to correct the speedo and all that, its around $380. Well, I called detroit speedworks today (they are like 15 minutes from my house) and they said they could do a custom tune, to correct the speedo and account for the pi intake for $400. Which one should I do? Will I get more benefits out of my custom tune, or would I be just as well off with the hypertech programmer? They stated that with a PI intake on a 98 I would for sure need a custom tune. Is this true? If so I guess the custom tune is the way to go. Thanks for the input.

What software and/or chip do they use? SCT gave me some good advice that you should ask before buying a custom tune:
Whenever you purchase a chip or flasher, it's always a good idea to ask upfront these questions:
1) What is the cost to customize the chip
2) What is the cost for dyno time
3) What will you do for me if i have a tuning problem immediatly after my dyno tuning
4) What is the cost for future reburns
5) What is the cost for future dyno retunes
I was quoted one price for a chip, then ended up paying about double that price when I found out there were additional charges...dyno time/tuning time. Make sure you know the full, total, out the door price.
