Just curious why it takes my starter about 7 turns to get my car started? Even after the car is warmed up and say I got to the store for 10 minutes and come back out...still takes about 5 cranks to fire up.

I got new cap, rotor and plugs and timing is set at 10 degrees...my yota pick up and every sbc ive owned would crank up right away once warmed up.

Have you tried cycling the key a couple times before cranking it for the first time? The point is to prime the fuel pump a couple times to build pressure. If you do this and it cranks right up, you know what's causing it (and it's common with our cars).

Good luck.

Yes, sorta. You could be facing one of two potential problems if you have to prime the pump a few times to build fuel pressure. Either your pump is going, or the regulator is bleeding off too much fuel pressure.
