Hard Upper Radiator Hose...is this normal?

I've notice my upper radiator hose get's hard , I have 180dg stat and a 3 core radiator, but I'm not over heating...thae gauge stay's between the A & L ...it don't get hard at idle, only when I drive 15 miles or more or really get on it

yes its normal the system is holding approx. 15 lbs of pressure before it pushes coolant past the cap into reservoir.....

take the rad cap off COLD and start it and look for bubbles, might be headgasket time
