HArdest decision in my life.....for now

ok guys i posted this on both this site and corvette forum so i would like a honest opion........

What would you guys rather have a 98 99 C5 corvette stock........Or a 95 mustang with complete built suspension (coilovers, link suspension, New k member and basically everything) A 351 possible stroker, possible twin turbo, Est. 500 + hp.......with nice interior (racing seats, and kick ass audio system) and saleen body kit with new paint job and nice set of 19 inch rims.......

Ive been contemplating this for some time, ive owned many mustangs non of that nature but i love them anyway. my buddy recently got a vette (85 C4) and i started thinking of getting one...thing is they are very expensive to fix, but are easy to make fast, Its just ive been loyal to ford my whole life......

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I got my mustang for the simple fact of being able to make it unique. If you get that vette...you are gonna see the same car all over the place and IMO are more expensive to be made "unique".

I would build the modified Stang in a heartbeat over a stock vette.

Id say it depends what you want. If you want a DD or a car your gonna drive alot, get the C5(or substitute for a 03 Cobra). If you want a car that will attract alot of attention at shows, tracks and local meets I guess the 95. Thing is, all the money in the 95 will be a horrible investment as you will never get is back. How are you gonna pay for this? How old are you?

vettes are nice...but they dont excite me very much unless they are modded...which costs tons of $$$ to do. Now a 95 Stang built in every aspect....that is exciting stuff.

ps...19's might be overkill....18's look great

Well, I personally would choose the stang. Sounds like a lot of work and time have been invested and you should just enjoy it!!

I dont have a stang yet... However, I have gone balls out on a car before, and let me tell you, However much you anticipate on spending, double that. Because there are always things that come up when building a car. Not to mention the labor if its a part of the project that you cannot tackle yourself. It gets very very timeconsuming. You begin to grow never happy with the cars current state and consistantly want it to evolve.. Its cool, but truthfully you never fully enjoy it. Just the experience that I have...

Rather than me going that next big jump on my 3000GT (i have already invested alot of money) i have decided to spend the money that I would be spending on that on another car.. I already have a few cars, but I see getting something different as a great chance at letting me step away from my 3000GT for alittle bit, before i get tired of it, and make a mistake by selling it. So, im looking to make a Saleen Speedster Clone or get a real saleen.

Anyone will tell you, that you never get money back from mods(except the Supra guys... No idea how they do it), and it is a horrible investment. From the experience i have gained from others, NEVER EVER, take out a loan to modify your car... It's bad. I have seen people have to sell cars that they owned outright because they got overboard on upgrades with a loan, and for one reason or another they can no longer afford it... thats the worst.

As far as the modded stang vs vette, the Stang parts are cheap, which is what really attracted me to it. The vette parts are not cheap, and not as large of a selection. If its your only car, get the vette.. If your looking for a project, build the mustang, but always have a dependable daily driver, because high horsepower cars can break, and it could be down for some time.

Just some thoughts..

Go with the stang. You can work on it...but can you work on the vette?
The stang...with all u siad you'd do, you could customize many things.. and would look sweet. Vettes uniqueness can only go soo far.... Also u said 500 +hp ...if you can drive you might win some $$... or at a show that bling of a mootang will bring some attention.... u take the vette to a show...and what??? hey another joe shmoe with a vette...

i say build up the stang!

BIZNATCH, How very alike we are in our dreams......The 95 i plan on doing is basically a saleen speedster clone too just with a better engine etc...

But as for the mustang not being a DD I dont understand......to get specific these are my plans ethier 99 vette coupe then heads and cam on the vette........OR the mustang speedster clonen with a hardtop kit, but engine wise i would like the 351 with fordged everthing and atleast 450 hp but DD is a must, tranny would be a viper spec t-56.

I know high Hp cars break thats why im leanig towards the mustang cause if i break the vette then thats BIG time money vs less money to fix mustang. Currently i have a 95 gt and i love that car it just needs alot more Hp, so i geuss i could get away with building the speedster with the engine and everything needed to keep the car from falling apart, suspension wise.

As for not being able to get my money back, I dont care cause this car will be mine forever, it will be a never ending journey til there is no more and then ill buy a new car, BUT I WILL KEEP THE STANG....as for the vette resale value, you cant sell a moded vette for **** , why i dont know so there in the same boat...

I am 20 but own my own house, 86 gt, 94 gt, 99 f150, 03 R1 And a bank account with 25k burning for a the speedster with 2 k too spare each month, By the way what do you own? O you probably live at home with your parents at 38 years old.....................

Father gave me 20k on graduation and ive been selling used stangs since.....plus i make 22 an hour

The vette will have a MUCH better resale value than the mustang. I would look at that. The money you get back if you ever change your mind or upgrade to a newer car.
