Harmonic Balancer bolt removal

89Mustang's idea should work fine - done it many times that way. Put the bar between the crank bolts, and rotate the engine around (counterclockwise) until the bar wedges against the engine stand brackets. Then put your big pull bar on the ratchet and break the front bolt free.

Not sure if it would help at all, or do more bad than good, but one of those TDC locator tools threaded into a plug hole, holding against a piston might do the trick, as long as you're not applying too much force and doing damage to the piston/sparkplug threads.

Matt - very, very BAD idea. That way you'll know for next time.
