Michael, i appreciate your straightening me out. if stuff sounds ok to my internal ear, but is misleading, that helps no one. ive been preoccupied with the stupid computer and the problems the new security software has created, so i my responses are even less thoughtful than normal. hard to believe it could get worse. LOL.
ECU, here is the cheapest Pioneer i found. IIRC, you would need DA3021.

looks like it is 70 bucks, but i did not call about spacers or exact application. might be worth checking out. also, CSK (partsamerica.com) lists the same unit for 102 bucks or so (IIRC), but i did not investigate that further either, as if i had to mail order one, i had other ideas (i went SFI).
