hatch saleen wing fitment

hey guys,
i was wondering, will a saleen wing meet up/mount to the hatch in the same spots as a factory gt wing (a 1988 gt). i want to have it painted while its not on the car, but will the hatch need any painting to do the install? im not sure if the car has ever been painted before and it might be faded or scuffed underneath the wing, i dont want anything like that to show.
should i just have it professionally mounted and then painted?
are the bolt holes the same?
how much have people paid for labor alone to install a wing.
im also kina considering selling it and just doing an LX wing instead,
any opinions? ......

hoods are easy, ive never done a spoiler.

i hope this isnt a commonly posted question i didnt do a search:(

yes it will match up. The holes are all in the same spot. The only thing I can think of is you might have to polish the paint (if it is the original) on the back side a little but other than that you should be ok. Remember also not all wings are exactly the same and might fit differently. nothing a little polishing can't handle. BTW, for an LX spoiler you need to drill 8 extra holes in your deck lid. and only like 2 of the original holes ( i think the rear corners) from the GT wing will line up with the LX spoiler. All others are different. I owuld stay away form the LX one unless you are shooting for that look. Good luck.

well when i bought my notch i traded the saleen wing that came on it for a hatchback style one, since i figgured it would be easier to sell a hatch back wing. but now i own a hatch and i hate the gt wing alot. thanks for the info, its just what i needed to hear. so i guess the finished look is gonna go like this.

1988 gt factory navy blue and sliver two tone
stalker front bumper(done)
cobra rear bumper(done)
saleen wing(to come)
2-1/2 or 3" hood(to come)
and crhome ponys (done)

the only thing left is everything else,:SNSign: thanks
