Have a little scoring on end of crank.......

I am replacing my rear main seal. When I took it out, I found I have a tiny bit of scoring on the crank end. I may have put it there during removal. You can barely feel it when running your finger over it. Can I use some emery cloth to remove it?

i would use crocus cloth and 240 grit emery cloth...these are minor abrasions right and i would polish evenly around crank but use wet crocus cloth after cleaning with the 240 grit emery cloth would be the best....and afterward ensure to clean any leftover materials from crank area...
