Have you ever stuck your finger...

Hmm...Ok..

Sorry...basically I think the manual calls for the finger method. Some people on stangnet have found that it can cause too much fluid. You'll have to decide which way to go. Personally I'd stick with whatever Ford recommends.

^ Sorry, but thats not right. If you fill it that much, it would shift like CRAP....im pretty sure it would jack stuff up. Not to mention it would probably run out of the rear seal, if not it would leak much more easily.

A fix for the T-3650's shifting problems is to actually fill less than the reccomended 4 quarts...to 3.5 I believe. That and RP helped mine out a TONE. Please dont over fill the things.

Huh, odd. It says in My Haynes manual to fill until some pours out of the fill hole. I forget the volume, I think it's something like 3.2 or 3.4 QTS? It isn't more then 3.4 though, and you say it is 3.5. Anyone else notice that in the Haynes manual?

EDIT: Haynes manual could be for the T45, as I'm thinking of the T3650, so who knows.

Yea the T-45 could be different, as he does have a T-45. The T-45s hold 3-3.2 quarts

Sorry man, my bad there, they could very well run out of the plug hole @ 3.2 or 3.4. I just told him to buy 3 quarts...that should be fine. For some reason I was thinking T-3650 I guess  .

Using less fluid was just a bandaid to make the 3650 shift better, wasnt it? On my T45, I just fill it til it runs out of the top hole, and it shifts great.

I think so, but im pretty sure it works in most cases. I know mine shifted 100% better after filling with RP and filling to 3.5 quarts vs 4.

Whatever, Mustang man :nice: . I still take advice on Mustangs from you, since you are more knowledgeable than I. You've helped me a few times in the past.

That would definetly be a sweet job! Good luck if you take that route, because I know there is some heated competition there.
