Ok I put in a auto meter electric speed. I have the right sender for it. And I'm pretty sure I wired it up right. Anyway, the power comes on, it lights up the pointer goes midway and back, shows 1 on the odometer. It won't read mph though?
On my VDO, I had to press the trip button a series of times according to the instructions to put it in "program mode", then drive One Mile, and then press again. This calibrated it.
Is there anything about programming your Autometer?
Did you make sure the sender has the right size gear attached?
I'm pretty sure all wires are where they are supposted to be and hooked up. It says I need to program it but will it not work until its programed? I figured that it would have a preset in there and work out of the box.
Also I didn't think I had to have a certain gear on there just a gear to turn it.
