mechanic compaining of fitment issues. Hitting everywhere. Says he wants to try to micro adjust to make fit. He said anyone else's car he would heat up the pipe and 'move it around'. (I guess heating it up would be bad for it?)
'Not a bolt on' he said.

Anyone else had these issues? It's a popular piece that's supposed to be a bolt-on.

Not impressed with that piece or the Magnaflow (which is SS and therefore very difficult to move at all)

Only piece that I have actually been impressed with is Bassani.

I had a tough time putting one on my GT... but with a little knuckle skin and sweat i won the fight... it' a tight fit... the off road h-pipe on my LX was a hell of alot easier.

Heating it up with a torch where the pipe mounts to the crossmember of the tranny is about the industry standard. Most will heat them up and then bend the pipe downward for removal and opposite for installation. It's just like a gear change, not all are made to fit the exact same way as another does, so some "tweaking" is needed to squeeze them in the right way.

If you think heating up the exhaust pipe with a torch is bad for it, then what would you say for the 500-600 degree temps the exhaust can normally run at out the heads?

If it was made for the right car, and it is your correct application, then you do what you have to do to make then fit well.
