Is anyone using the oil cooler, on the HD 3core radiator (brass/copper)? The one that is available at almost all of the local parts stores.
Maybe you are running something similar?

I am curious what your oil temps are.
Steady state cruising
Full throttle
Oil warmup times

I am wondering if it would be worth while for me to plumb the oil into the rad.

Thanks,
jason

I use the FRPP stacked plate oil cooler on mine. It's mounted low where the hot air coming off the cooler DOES NOT go back across the radiator/condenser. Before my oil temps ran 250-270F in the summertime. After the cooler they run 210-225F.

I have that exact same radiator sitting in my garage. It's a lot thicker than the stock unit in my car right now. I'll be installing it over the winter and am planning on using the exisiting tranny cooler opening as my oil cooler. I don't have any cooling issues currently, but would like to get a oil cooler added to my setup.

I am confident that running the coolant and oil through the same heat exchanger will not effect the coolant temperature in a negative fashion. If the oil cooler was stacked in front of the radiator then there would be a problem. But since the heat from the oil will be pulled out by the fan and only a little will be transfered into the coolant area I don't see an issue. My only problem is that I don't have an OTG (Oil Temp Gauge) to tell you if there is any change in the oil temps. I'll have to judge any improvement based on the linespan of the new oil vs. last summers oil life span which will not be the most accurate test.
