Head bolts. Replace or reuseable?

I have a 302 with TFS aluminum heads which I just removed. should I replace all the head bolts with new ones or can I re-use the ones I have? My car is a street/strip high performance car. I have heard that you can re-use them up to 4 times. What have you guys done in the past?

Also, I lost 3 header bolts. Anyone out there have some left overs they can hook me up with for a few bucks?

Any help is appriciated.

Replace them. You can get a get of ARP bolts at Summit for $40 maybe even cheaper other places. As for the header bolts I would just replace them also.

They are Torque-To-Yield bolts, meaning the torque spec is meant to stretch the bolts to acheive their clamping force. Considering how much stress they endure and the fact that they are made to be replaced after removal - replace them.

the stock head bolts are torque to yeild. i heard that arp bolts are reusable. since someone put those heads on i would assume they got arp bolts. either way, you can get a set for about $40.

If they are arp's you do NOT need to replace them. If they're stock, then replace them. Follow the tq specs of the BOLT manufacturer and use the lubrication they say to use.
