okay after figuring out the oil filter leak i realize that i can hear a header gasket leak.. well i think, i have victor jr stage 3 heads bbk LT's with copper gaskets, well i hear the leak driver side last cylinder but i can feel air what seams to be coming out of the spark plug well?? my buddy says its just the gasket leaking in that area but i feel different. if it was a cylinder leak what else would it do and if not just a header leak should i stay w/ copper or get like some fel-pro's???

Copper gaskets are crap. Get Percy or equivalent soft aluminum gaskets that crush and they do not burn out. I have been using them for Turbo cars and they have taken all the heat and never need replaced.

Its making a ticking noise and its annoying as hell.
I just found out thats where the leak was today when I took it to Midas but they dont replace header gaskets.

I had the same problem with my '73, everybody told me to use some hi-temp red silicone (sensor safe).

Sounds crazy...but it works. I made some aluminum gaskets (scram alum.), and ran a thin bead of red around the ports. Pulled up the bolts, let the silicone set up, then do a final torque. Been that way for a several months, and no problem.

Don't forget to buy stage 8 bolts with locks. they save you blowing out gaskets.

Chitty gaskets still blow out. I had/have stage 8s on mine and the gaskets that came with the headers. Blew out after 2 or 3 WOT blasts.

I used Mr. Gasket header gaskets, never had a problem. Its like that crushed aluminum style.

Later Ant...

P.S. but then again-I also used copper mac's, still had no prb's, Guess-I was lucky!
