I have some Equal Length Mac 1 5/8th's that have some age on them. They never have bolted up right to my AFR's. One side always seems to short. I believe they need to be "trued". Do machine shops do that? I don't think it seals up flat

Also I need the right exhaust gasket (FEL-1416?) that actually will fit over and still seal against the 1 5/8ths...because the FEL-1415's overlap the exhaust ports on the AFR 165's. I don't like that restriction...any thoughts?

What is a good way to clean out the inside of the headers?

Also I bottomed out my car and put a nice little dent (disrupts air flow) at the kink where the hpipe starts going up towards the header? What can I do? Special tool? It pushed it up probably a good 1.5 inches.

Thanks:nice:

Well having them trued would be probably $20 bucks and they flow fine. Cleaning is free with some elbow grease. The dent is in my h-pipe and I'm sure I can "remove" that for much less that the price of a new h-pipe.

Thanks for the response

5spd GT, they make an exhaust system tool designed to remove "dents" in exhaust pipes. Generally, this tool is used when someone over tightens a muffler clamp and pinches the pipe, but it should work for you as well.

If your local auto parts stores don't have it in stock, I believe that Summit sells it.
