headers glowing red

same thing happened to me methodical. had to replace my clutch cable numerous times cause it was melting it. i started wraping heat tape around it...

Good to know. What kind of heat tape and where did you get it from? Is it the same as the header wrap?

I used some zip ties to pull it further away from the stubbies. It's been good since. But the heat tape sounds good.

Let me know.

they have flashlite drags at the Clarion Airport.. it's the same company that also has them a Zelienople and i think that there is another airport in there also..

i would like to try it this year if i get my car running.. it's been down for over 2 years.. i have been devoting all my extra time to a bronco that i have...

yeah just normal header wrap, cool-it brand i think. just wrapped it around the clutch cable rather than trying to mess with the headers. seems to work fine. i thought i had some pics of it, but i can't find any ones that you can really see it.

You're not getting any airflow to the headers

I think you might be right... i drove my car for about 10 miles the other night and pulled it the garage while the lights were off and popped the hood to see what the headers looked like and they were not glowing red..

now to try to get my computer tuned properly...

To lazy to read the other post...But Sounds like your running to rich, causing your headers to turn red orange....well at least that s what happened to me...

i couldn't take any more... i ordered one from anderson ford motorsports yesterday.. i already have their pms so i figured i would stick with the same company.. it is pricey though....

it started snowing here again today so it will be a little while before i get to take it out on the road to see what the meter is telling me..

i do like that it actually records so you can look back and see what was going on...

i would like to mount it in one of the O2 sensor holes right in the header if possible.. i moved my O2's further back in the mid pipe..
