Im relatively new to this board and the whole mustang world. Yes folks after 5 years as a ricer i took the smart route and got myself a real car. Anyways i put a full exhaust on the stang its in my sig. The guy who installed it said adding headers wasnt really worth the time to put them on. I find that hard to believe. Is this guy talking outta his ass or are they not that big of an improvement?

On a near stock stang you can actually loose a little torque. I don't think you need to change them till you get near 300 flywheel hp.

I put some on my previous stang (stock) and actually felt a little loss in torque.

Eventually, your gonna need them though.

you may see a couple ft-lb loss way down low, but you should piuck it back up in the upper range...Headers are not hard to put in if you know what your doing...Equal legnth Shorties like i have can be a PITA but if i did em again it would go MUCH quicker...

Yeah i think im gonna wait on the the headers until i get my heads and intake done. Some people were telling me that they leak alot. But my old man said hes never had a problem with his on his 67 fastback. Is it just a fact or myth on the 5.0?

Leaking shouldn't be a problem. Just get some nice header gaskets with stage 8 locking bolts and your set. No leaks.
