so im looking at getting a set of heads and need to know what option is better here.

on one hand i get get some twisted wedges with bigger valves and a stage 2 or similar custom cam.

or get afr 185's and notch the pistons to get it to clear.

i need to get the most out of the head and cam because its going to be a long time untill i do anything else for power, as i plan on doing a 5 link suspension and i need rims and rubber for the summer.

so what would be better, notching the pistons to accept a more aggressive cam
with twisted wedge heads with a custom cam.

or notching the pistons to fit afr 185's and running a slightly less agressive cam because there will be more interferance?

from my research i kind of found that in order to get the twisted wedge heads to fit bigger valves and still clear stock pistons was to adopt a less than optimal head design.

either set of head will be paired with a 75 mm throttle body, and a tfs track heat upper and lower.

--- on another note, would it be worth getting the upper and lower intake polished because it seems almost like sand paper in the runners

another things is what is needed to achieve a .600 lift, better springs?

You're first post was after everyone left to go get drunk. Then, you posted at 4:50am. They were all either just getting to bed and nowhere near being able to operate a computer. Or sleeping it off. Now, it's 9am and they are all definitely sleeping it off.

The reason for all that writing and nothing productive to answer your question...

You have to be patient. Not everyone logs in every 20 minutes. You should wait at least 24 hours before bumping a thread. Sometimes, you have to wait several days. (Till the boys get back to work and their computers.) You'll get your answer.

i posted this on thrusday at 8 pm, and bumped it saturday morning at 4 am. how is that not 24 hours? o wait, thats because its 32 hours.

i worked last night from 5-11 so im pretty sure i didnt have time to make the original post at that time.

looks like you have some more alchohol to work off before you post anything that actualy makes sence

Hehe! I was thinking it was the 29th. I don't drink. I just happend to be awake at 9am, which IS rare for me.

I guess no one has an opinion about your question, since we're sitting at about 42 hours and this is all you've got. Sucks being you. :P

meh it happens i guess.

im realy hoping to pull 330-350 rwhp out of this combo for the time being, and i plan on going either 331 or 347 so the 165's are out of the question realy

not to mention when you get to around .500 lift the 185's start kicking the crap out of 165's.

kind of hoping that with afr 185's and an agressive cam with .600 lift, i should be at least close to my goal

Notching the piston is never a good idea...but especially when you are doing it to hyper pistons. It affects the integrity of the piston as well as even the balance.

I would really go with the AFR 185 and a Cam that fits PTVC..

And the twisted wedge head are a good head as well allowing you to go with a bit bigger cam. you shouldnt be afraid of what they call a flawed design becuz it works just fine in the power level you want to achieve.

I also think that the power goal you want to get with just HCI are a pretty high up there you are going to have to match up everything pretty well.
