heater core problem

i actually cut my hoses into the firewall and then bypassed them. i am not real technical with my wording or anything so bear with me. the tubes were bypassed about two inches down from where they were cut. i cut the two other hoses where they were bypassed to which are not on the firewall. they are just pushed over the hoses now and it looks like a U and reclamped with the clamps from where they go into the firewall. man i wish i could be more help and get pictures, just so happens i got in an accident last night and just saw it get towed 10 min ago.
