New sympton. Went track racing and blew the pressure cap at 16lbs. I was thinking it was the heater cores but for some reason, my system is generating too much pressure. Can a bad thermostat cause this if the system doesn't overheat and looks normal all of the time.
So much for heater core number 4. Changed the thermostat and bypassed the heater core. I'm going to monitor the water pressure and see if I can find out what's happening.
Theres is a tsb for the heat cores in these model year stangs. Have you looked into it? It was something about a ground and a restrictor of some type. Check it out

sounds like to me youve got blockage or something, or maybe a cracked head, or blown head gasket
