I have a 95gt convertible. I replaced the heatercore last summer. With only 3,000 miles on the new one it has failed. Any ideas as to why the heater core failed so quick?

It was replaced at the ford dealer so I am sure it was fords heater core. As for the restrictor I am not sure. Will the restrictor help keep the core from springing a leak? I havent had a chance yet but Thursday I will take the car back to the ford dealer and find out for sure if it is the core.

Well if you didn't change it yourself, there is a good chance it was installed wrong. It's really easy to tug and pull on that copper inlet/outlet lines causing metal fatigue. 3,000 miles on a heater core, I think you have good standing to have them change it again at their expense.
