Hey guys,

My 66 Coupes fan is going a little crazy, as of lately. It is controlled by the "3-speed" switch, but the only way to get it going is to turn it all the other ways. The low and medium selections make noise, but it can't get started turning. the car has a new plenum, so I guess I'll start to dissect it tomorrow. It was suggested to me that there is just some kind of trash (pine straw, probably, thanks to a horrible p.o.)

Any ideas? Suggestions for dissecting the plenum?

Thanks,
Dave

maybe the bushings are dry in the motor and it needs the extra voltage (high speed) to overcome the initial friction.

or you have a bad connection causing excessive voltage drop and inadequate power to the motor.

just some ideas.
