heater hose blew out today !!

that statement is 100% true and as stated above, you can remove the old one and put in the new hose or goto your local dealer and order just the flow restrictor and install it later

can you tell me which direction should I install the restritor ? like which way did it point to ? thanks cause I think I install backward and it make my coolant system over pressure and it being push out the cap now.

Blew one last year at WOT. For a fraction of second, i thought it was a head gasket. Got a new hose from Ford and REMOVED the restrictor inside.

Mine blew just where the restrictor was. That piece is there to increase pressure to the heater core i think (getting better performance). Since i m not using the car during winter, i removed it following Ford tech advise that it will not effect the durability of the hose.
