Heater Hose Routing?

I have a 67, no air conditioning, 289, Stock Rebuild. My photos from the break down show that the top heater hose gets routed throught the bracket on the carb to the intake manifold. That would leave the bottom heater hose to connect to the water pump.

I have a book, 67 manual that shows completely the opposite.

Can anyone tell me the correct routing?

If I face the engine compartment, my heater hoses are stacked top to bottom.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can route either way. doesn't matter, the heater will still work. One hose comes off the intake just behind the T-Stat housing to the heater core, the other off the nipple on the water pump not occupied by the bypass hose and back to the heater core. Hook whichever hose to whichever heater nipple you choose, it'll work either way.

Dhearne is right. this is only a radiator to transfer heat into the car and the direction of flow doesnt matter it doesnt affect the way the water travels thru the engine. I would hook them up the way they look best to you.

This is from the '65 factory shop manual....should be the same for '67:
