:shrug: You just made that all up, right? Never seen such low hp numbers for MAI. What unit sells for $200? Won't affect warranty in most cases.

Oh, and SC @ $4500 + 1000 intall = $5,500 for about 130hp (safe boost). 5hp @ $200 = 25hp per $1,000. $5,500 x 25hp per $1,000 = 137.5 hp. Even that part doesn't make sense.

In the end it's your car and your money spend it how you want.
You're probably not going to "feel" anything or run better times with a tune and filter box, so unless you race on the dyno those things don't mean jack.
The aftermarket TB has got to be the biggest scam for these cars :nonono: the stocker flows plenty.
Nitrous and some gears are the best bang for the buck

I don't need to defend squat. Some changes I've made and really noticed the difference, some less so. Just got my JBA's on, and all I noticed was an increase in vibration. Oh well. I've staged every mod I've made so that I can tell what seems to make the most diff, and the TB made the biggest difference in WOT accel. And I mean BIG difference. Mid pipe = less weight than stock and louder, mufflers = deeper, louder.

This isn't my opinion, I've experienced every mod and had enough time between mods to know what has done what.

Stock TB may flow well enough, but LFP's flows better.

Remember there is so much snake oil in the "performance parts biz" I hate seeing people get burned.

You actually can really feel the difference with a Cold Air Intake and Tune.

I don't dyno race and my buttdyno has been on the fritz since my trip to Mexico so I prefer to go to an actual track and get actual results.

Even testing at the same track on different days will give you different results. Temperature,Humidity, Barometric Pressure, Traction, Ect.
I try to run 2-3 configurations on the same day. and see the results.



This is a cut and paste from a post I made last week on another board.

On Sunday October 2nd I went to the track to gather data.

I ran 6 runs of each configuration with 3 different configurations and these were my results:

100% factory intake and software on factory tires: 2.041 60ft. 8.784 1/8th [email protected]

C&L Intake with 93 Octane Tune on factory tires: 1.949 60ft. 8.508 1/8th [email protected]

C&L Intake with 93 Octane tune on BFG Drag Radials: 1.842 60ft. 8.332 1/8th [email protected] on the brakes during ET Bracket eliminatons.

I continued to improve with my drag radials and further improved my times to1.869 60ft. 8.291 1/8th [email protected]

2 weeks ago I installed a set of Steeda Underdrive pullies and ran a 1.917 60ft. 8.240 1/8th [email protected] with a 7mph tailwind.

This week I installed my JBA Longtube headers and catted H-Pipe. Yesterday I went to the track and ran a 1.775 60ft. 8.113 1/8th 12.691@ 109.170 with a 3mph crosswind

My bad. You're right, there are plenty of people out there (all walks of life!) who'll gladly mug the unwary, so your caution is wise.

Too many times, I read "expert" opinions on stuff, which is usually nothing more than prejudice. I posted re the TB, based on what I felt my experience was, so got defensive when people said it was a waste.

TBH, if I had it to do all over again, I'd only do the TB and u/d pulleys (power-mod wise) - maybe the xpipe for the sound. Both the TB and pulleys made the car pull noticeably harder. The other stuff:shrug: I like the C&L, and want to believe that it gives me a few more ponies, but I can't say that I noticed the diff when I put it on.
