Hey guys-
Once again, i need your help. I wrote in last week about a possible bad bearing in the alternator that caused some pretty nasty noises. Well today as I was driving the sounds were getting pretty bad and the car died. I started it back up and there was a belt screeching noise (like one of the acc. was seized up) and the car died after about two seconds. I was able to get it started and drove it down the block to my house. I took off the serpantine belt and checked the acc. pullies. The alternator spins smooth as silk, as do the others. The air pump(?) below the alt. does not spin freely at all. It is very inconsistent: Spins, then seizes up, spins rough, spins freely again, etc. Is this normal for this pulley? I guess I have not heard of too many probs with air pumps, but maybe there is something wrong with this one. Any help or advice would be great. HELP!
