If you still have your EGR intact and the coolant lines to it intact, a bad EGR gasket could be a source of coolant making it into the chambers (white smoke).

If a coolant line was accidentally connected to the oil filler nipple (PCV port), this would put coolant into the crankcase.

For a super quick but very temporary fix (which could lead to possible pinging - keep an ear out):
Disconnect the and loop the two EGR coolant lines together (Be sure they're coolant lines). Be sure the remaining line from the TB to oil filler is just a vac line. Pressure test the cooling system and see what you see and hear what you hear.

Good luck.

I agree, put 2 and 2 together would indicate that if your motor had no smoke before and you removed the egr spacer and tb than a new gasket is in order. Replace the gasket and change your oil
