well maybe not 100 times but it sure feels like it. I took the master cylinder off last night and bench bled it. Today I bled the brakes the old fashion way. I didn't get a chance to test it yet due to a dead battery that wouldn't jump. Getting a new one tomorrow but i am pessimistic about it being ok. I have bled these brakes many times and the pedal is rock hard when I am done. Then I fire up the car and the pedal goes to the floor. The car stops but the pedal is on the floor. Any ideas? I am at a loss. I can't enjoy my mustang at all at it is pissing me off.

setup:
95 booster and M/C
96 rear disc
pbr fronts
wildwood prop valve (turned all the way for bleeding)

One thing that concerns me is when I was putting in the Booster the rod that goes into the M/C fell out. Is that normal?

only thing that I can think of is going back to the stock brake booster. Anyone have issues with that?

that might work. are you using the factory MC?

if so ditch that right away for a 93 cobra piece. that might be the cause of your problems.

Sounds like it might be a bad M/C, the adjustment rod should not have fallen out either as it is set very precise. You can read how to adjust the rod proper on Maximum Motorsports. You might want to snag a 93 Cobra Booster and M/C and be done with it!

Bolt pattern is the same as the stock 86-93 models. The vacuum booster part is larger than stock.

See http://www.svo73mm.cjb.net/ for brake help and adjusting the booster rod. Matt90GT has the best Mustang brake site on the web.

I am wondering on whether the booster rod should have just fallen out like it did. My fox one doesn't do that.

oh maby try tapping on the MC to reset the porportion valve sometimes they need a few taps while pressing the peddal. most of the time the will automaticly do it but once in a while the need to be hit with a small hammer.

Yeah that should not have fallen out as it needs to be a precise length and you fine tune it by turning the small acorn nut on the end. Sounds like someone might have sold you some bad stuff, the 93 Cobra stuff is actually a better fit than the SN95.

thanks for the info. I will get a new booster from checkers and see if that alone will work. If not then I will get a new m/c as well. Although I think the m/c will be okay.

Your pedal that keeps going to the floor is what makes me nervous about your M/C, but it worth the try I guess, Good Luck and let us know how it works out!

the only reason I am questioning the booster is because the rod fell out once when I was putting it in.

booster provides vacuum. sounds like vacuum is no problem right?

it's the m/c or the rod adjustment.

if the rod fell out, I am not sure on how to fix that. I didn't look at it too carefully when I put it back in. Does it just screw back into place?
