I lost a good deal of brake pressure and the pedal feels spongy in my 01 GT Mustang. Its stock except for exhaust and has 53K on it. I broght it into the shop at my work and we bled the entire brake system and flushed the fluid but that didnt do much. I dont know if its the master cylinder or what. Any ideas or did anyone have similar problems before? The pads look like they are somewhat new too.

Did the problem start before or after you bled the brakes?

They felt spongy before, so i thought bleeding them would make them better.... feels the same if not worse

Most likely they need to be bled further. You should get one of the tools that bleeds at the nipple also. You could have air in the caliper.

Barring that, you may have a bad seal on the master cyclinder or a weak line that has an expansion bubble but I would really just spend a lot more time bleeding the brakes.

Did you bleed passenger side rear, then drivers side rear, then passenger front, then drivers front, then the two bleeders on the hydroboost assembly?

If you cannot get the air out try using speed bleeders.

It takes 2-3 people to bleed brakes unless you have some technology like speed bleeders.
