Help...door won't open all the way

On my '88GT, all of a sudden my driver's door won't open all the way. It opens about 3 inches and binds up with the front fender.
It just happened today out of the blue.....why?
Is there a way to adjust it or what needs done?
I did notice that the gap between the door(where you enter) and the rear quarter is a little bit larger than the passenger's side.
Please help.

Does it make any noise? Sounds like you have a hinge problem. It's rare that the hinge breaks in this manner, but I have seen it, and this is what it causes; unlike the usual hinge problems that just make the door loose. Are you positive it's hitting the fender, not something that got inside somehow? I've seen this too, but you have to take off the fender to find it...PIA... good luck!

Check and see if the fender is loose and got pushed back somehow, grab it with the hood up and try to move it back and forth. I have seen alot of people leave hardware out and daily driving vibrates the bolts loose. If not, the definitely check out the hinge thing 351 mentioned. Don't really think it could be anything else.
