car has a set of steeda sport springs & a set of afs 03 cobra 17x9 wheels. currently running 275/40/17 tires.

i still have too much gap between tires & fender, especially in the rear.

considered running a tire with larger sidewall; but am having no luck finding one like a 275/50/17. all nitto makes is like 275/50/15. not even sure this would help enough, & too much sidewall looks like @ss.

also considered using the plus-size concept to run like 285/13/18 in the rear. would this work?

finally, as a last resort, i though of maybe cutting the rear springs a bit.

if anyone have some help for me with this very annoying problem; it would be greatly appreciated.

over a year now; so my dream of it settling in more is kinda hard to keep alive these days.

would running an 18" tire on my 17" wheel alleviate this problem at all? nitto makes a 285/35/18 with an 'inflated diameter about a half an inch greater than the tires i am running have. not even sure u can do this, but i believe u can.

i just thought someone might have had similar prob with these springs; i didn't want it slammed cause there are some crappy roads around here; but i wish it had dropped another half or 3/4 of an inch or so.

yes.

i know i could get a diff. set of springs, and all would be solved. (shoulda went with eibach sport) But,

these springs seem to be sold only as a set of 4 everywhere & since i only need rear; plus,

i am getting ready to do cam swap & would like to put that $ towards it; which is why i was wondering if there was another way to get around this besides buying more springs.

which apparently there isn't. ?
