Help I Want Quieter inside w/o quieter outside..?

Looking to find out what the best method to go about dampening the exhaust sound inside my mustang with out changing my exhaust setup. I have no cat's with an X-pipe and dual flow master 40's. I love the sound of it but some days when I do a lot of driving it starts to drive me crazy because it is so loud inside. Especially while I am on the highway cruising at 75+.

pull out your seats and carpet. install sound deadending material to the entire floor pan.. Reinstall carpet and seat.
simple enough.
I was dumb when I replaced the carpet i should have thrown some down but didn't. Ohh well.

If you wind up doing this, just be sure to be careful around the pedals (or don't put any down there at all) - had a buddy who threw some pretty thick sound deadening material down there, reinstalled the carpet, and then realized that his foot would barely fit between the side of the tunnel and the brake pedal. Undercoating.

I was talking to a friend of mine today about this and he mentioned trying some rubber undercoating spray can stuff...? He said its made to go under cars and trucks to help prevent rust and cancel road noise. He said its only like 4 or 5 bucks a can at auto zone or walmart and I wouldn't have to pull my whole interior out. Figure ill give this a try underneath first and see how well it works. If it sucks oh well I'm only out 5 bucks right?

That's what I was referring to. It does nothing for rustproofing really, since all cars today are made with steel that is already treated for it. Dealers call it "sound deadener" nowadays.

reflexticx.. you can get a big roll of it at home depot for around 20 bucks, that covered my floor twice.. i taped all the seams with the tape that you can get for it.. it shut it up pretty well..

All this talk of undercoating and dynamat, I just can't imagine how much slower it's going to feel afterwards from all of the added weight. It's never going to be a living room on wheels. Now, for the interior drone, you can cut holes in the sides of the exhaust pipes right as they come over the axle, and weld a piece of pipe to each. Close up the ends of the pipes, and the drone should be gone without changing the sound out the back much, if any.

Get a Bassnai catback. Just as loud outside and sooo much quieter inside. Ive had the exact setup you have now and now have Bassani. ALOT better sound and ALOT quieter inside without losing any volume outside.

Ahaha, nooo. I call my Flowmasters 'dronemasters' because of the annoying drone that they make. They came with the car when I got it; I would never have bought them. Those welded in pipes in the picture were a test done by someone else, and they worked incredibly. I did the same thing, just much cleaner. Never had the time to take good pictures of it.

Just get some Magnaflows or Dynomax's. U can barely hear Magnaflows inside the car, but outside they are loud with an off road midpipe. Its the chambers in the flowmasters that cause the droan I think.
