Lately since it's been hot out when ever i floor it in 1st or 2cnd my car moves slow and i hear a loud rattling sound coming from the engine. Any idea what this could be? the car barely moves while the sound is happening its a 94 mustang gt

Well my vote is on detonation since it does it when it's hot and you are also flooring it. It can be several things that cause it. One is too much initial timing, the other is not enough octane in your gas. There are other things that will cause it but those are the two basic causes. Basically what you car is doing is running lean and that is why you are getting the rattling sound. Does it sound kinda like marbles in a can?

yeah it sounds like marbles in a can. i thought it had to do with the cam shaft
or something and the timing is up a little bit. it used to idle at 5 it was put up a lil bit and its at like 6-7. i always put 93 octane in my car nothing less. ?

I am with 2L8ULUZ2.

Good luck.

Yup...what they said...Couple thoughts...

Hows the tune??? throw some fresh plugs, clean up the MAF and check the timing....I would set it at 10 then road test it and see what gives....a good way to tell if the timings ok is to get it going bout 40 in 4th, kinda lugging it, then pin it...does it sound off??? 10 is usually the starting point for timing...if it rattles go down a tad....if its ok, go up a few degs and re-test...kinda go from there...
Sucks when they rattle like that...some do it worse than others...
If I remember some have changed the ECT sensor by the thermostat, its in the end of the Black tube, and had good results with that...Detonation can be a plauqe on some cars... :(
