Dont start a flame war with me, I am just asking. I dont see the revelance. What does that have to do with building an economical stroker?

It is unfortunate that some people have to continually boast about their possessions in order to feel good about themselves. The whole idea of a tech. forum is to provide useful information to those who need it; not to spew forth unrelated pictures and acronyms in an unsuccessful attempt to impress people. Although I have to admit, I do wonder how someone so immature and ignorant could possibly attain that much money without a gift or inheritance.
Now on a more serious note: 67GTCOUPE, that sounds like a pretty mean engine combo already, what kind of Hp/Tq numbers do you have right now?
Thank you. That is good to know.Puma960 said:Quite well actually, When I bought mine that was all that was available for under a grand. I have the scat cast steel 3.85 stroke. When I bought it scat told me it was rated to 800hp. I dont know if they have changed the design since then or not but mine has seen mid 9's and 7500rpm. Last time I rebuilt the engine I had it magged and it passed, had it turned and still use it.
What attracted me to the combo was the stock windsor dimension rod and 302 piston, all off the shelf stuff (this was before the 408 stuff was everywhere) but since then I went to custom pistons anyway.
The complete engine is for sale and listed in the classifieds here, let me know if you are interested.

If I had no budget I would go with Eagle because it is american. I am already convinced that I will never buy a typhoon intake because it is a foreign ripoff.
I like the fact that most speed parts are made in the states.

As far as buying a used engine that has track time.......I am leary......when you have $7000.00 plus into paint, I hate to chip or ding it with an engine removal. This is why I am hopefully building a bulletproof motor that will outlast the car.
Perhaps I am paranoid, but I strongly believe in life cycles of rotating parts, all those forces of drag racing, in my mind, add up over the long haul. Please let me know if I am wrong.
