What exactly is that deposit slip supposed to prove? Dont start a flame war with me, I am just asking. I dont see the revelance. What does that have to do with building an economical stroker?

I agree that it is not relevant. Actually, none of his posts are relevant to the thread topic. It is unfortunate that some people have to continually boast about their possessions in order to feel good about themselves. The whole idea of a tech. forum is to provide useful information to those who need it; not to spew forth unrelated pictures and acronyms in an unsuccessful attempt to impress people. Although I have to admit, I do wonder how someone so immature and ignorant could possibly attain that much money without a gift or inheritance.

Now on a more serious note: 67GTCOUPE, that sounds like a pretty mean engine combo already, what kind of Hp/Tq numbers do you have right now?

393 with a nice roller then. The scat stuff is chinese cranks, but the engine builder that I deal with uses them without issues.
If I had no budget I would go with Eagle because it is american. I am already convinced that I will never buy a typhoon intake because it is a foreign ripoff.

I like the fact that most speed parts are made in the states.

most people are selling chinese cast stuff.....I am wondering how this stuff stands up?

Quite well actually, When I bought mine that was all that was available for under a grand. I have the scat cast steel 3.85 stroke. When I bought it scat told me it was rated to 800hp. I dont know if they have changed the design since then or not but mine has seen mid 9's and 7500rpm. Last time I rebuilt the engine I had it magged and it passed, had it turned and still use it.

What attracted me to the combo was the stock windsor dimension rod and 302 piston, all off the shelf stuff (this was before the 408 stuff was everywhere) but since then I went to custom pistons anyway.

The complete engine is for sale and listed in the classifieds here, let me know if you are interested.

Thank you.

It was a really nice motor.......just around 400hp at the flywheel. It really, really got a little 67 moving.

Thank you. That is good to know.

As far as buying a used engine that has track time.......I am leary......when you have $7000.00 plus into paint, I hate to chip or ding it with an engine removal. This is why I am hopefully building a bulletproof motor that will outlast the car.

Perhaps I am paranoid, but I strongly believe in life cycles of rotating parts, all those forces of drag racing, in my mind, add up over the long haul. Please let me know if I am wrong.

SHOULD HAVE KEPT OIL IN IT...

Dartman: you make a good point, many people will think that same thought, but, I can assure you it is not an oil related failure.

I will try and post pictures when it is out and in my hands.

Any way, I owe you an appology for the poor choice of words to respond to your shortblock offer.........I really wasn't meaning to flame you, but looking back it seems my wording did just that. Sorry about that.

I am just paranoid about running a used track motor. I did not know that it only had 4 passes on it. Hope you can understand.

So Eagle is all American made????? That certainly changes my outlook on things if that is the case........I will try and buy American any day of the week!

http://www.coasthigh.com/ Get a CHP 357 SB for $2100, 460 for $2400, 514 $2600. Or you can go my route for 450 HP and get a CHP 306 with a blower.

I know what your talking about as far paint goes.

But those life cycles you are referring can be verifyed, magnafluxing and inspections are critical. Thats why my engine only has 10 passes. I pull mine out every winter and inspect everything. Its cheap insurance. And peace of mind is worth alot of money to me.
