i just bought a aluminum radiator, its a summit. 29inches wide and 19 tall. or do i measure just where the coolong fins are. im trying to find the best fan that will fit with out much modification. i was hoping the ramcharger duel fan would work but i think its to big.
help me choose a electric fan

good question. i know proform makes one thats kinda like a black majic clone, it includes the temp adjuster on it for like 130 bucks give or take..........only thing is i dont know how many amps those things draw......

i was going to buy a hd 3 core but thought for a few extra maybe i'd like a 2 core aluminum especially here in the desert. i know or have heard on some of them you have to modify the top radiator brackets, but i don't know or havent heard what else may be needed. also, i will eventually want an electric fan but untill then is the stock shroud a no no with these after market radiators? i'm trying to upgrade and mod this car with a minumum of butchering.........

i have a proform electric fan on my griffin radiator for almost a year now.it basically droppped right in and has been trouble free.i can't remember how many amps it draws but mine only gets hot enough to cut on when it idles for a good while or when i cut it off.my stock alternator powered it for almost a year(no underdrive pulleys or stereo)before i upgraded to a 3ga.

SPAL makes a fully shrouded dual 11" set up that is 24X16 - I use one on mine. It moves almost 2800 cfm and is more than capable of keeping your car cool. Go to www.spal-usa.com. There's only one way to control the fan - the Delta Current Control variable current/fan speed controller is head and shoulders above the rest. Nothing else even comes close. Relays and switches are downright antique by comparison. Go to www.dccontrols.com. They also have Taurus and MkVIII fan set ups that will work quite nicely.
Michael Yaunt. i was checking out those websites. the fan you are talking about is that item #30102029. i was also looking at there thermastat and relay wiring. thay only sell them for 185 thermostats. im running a 180 does it matter.

ramchargers fan on a griffin 31x19. It can be modified to fit what ever. I have a friend that runs this fan on the stock radiator.

gripper - not sure which fan/website you're talking about - I think I posted two different links. The SPAL fan unit - they only sell one fully shrouded dual 11" fan, so it shouldn't be hard to ID. I would not use their control kit or any control arrangement that depends on relays and switches. Check out the variable speed controller at www.dccontrol.com. MUCH better control unit.

I've had the Ramchargers dual fans on my car for probubly a month now. Even in the HOT Florida weather I can keep the temps down to under 170* w/ the a/c on full blast. I did have to trim it a little bit to fit my 31" radiator, but once I got it to fit the electrical part is just hooking 2 connectors together and hook up the power and ground. 2 minutes later and the fan works perfect.
