Help me choose which one.

There is two screws on it. Just loosen them and pull it off. When changing the plenum, you have to take it off anyway. That's why I suggested cleaning it at that time. At least that way when you have everything back together and you have an idle problem, you don't have to pull it again.

There is a gasket on it, so don't forget about that.

Do you know which fitting is the IAC?

Don't waste your money on the C&L MAF. It leans the car about 30%! You MUST have a dyno tune with this thing. If you want mine (I pulled it off), I would be happy to sell it to you CHEAP. But you must promise to get a dyno tune.
You don't need a dyno, I've been using mine for 2 years without a tune. I got dyno'd 3 weeks ago, A/F is good.

The IAC is the weak link.

JonJon, I do not doubt your experience. But, you are a rare case, I think with the C&L. In my case, it leaned the car soo much, it was mis-firing.

You do understand how this mod works, right? It is designed to lean the mix by 30%. You must have been running rich before. BTW, what was your A/F if you don't mind me asking.

Hey streetstang03, are you going to clean your IAC valve? If so, keep me posted and let me know how it went. Let me know if it fixed your problem or not because we share the same problem. I'm not going to mess with mines until I get my TB & plenum. Like Go HoTo said, it'll be a good idea to check the IAC out when everything is out. I just don't feel like having to remove things out and put it back on only to remove it out again. Keep me posted. I'd suggest this thread. Thanks

I think Ford should have a recall on these damn IAC. Seems like everyone on here @ Stangnet has had a problem with em.
When I went to buy my replacement last Summer, the parts guy told me they were replacing them left and right on the Crown Vics for the police station

my C&L maf worked perfect for me luckily. I sold it though so i can get a more worthwhile mod. A chip can do the same for you as an aftermarket maf does.

Will do :flag: probably wont get around to is this week, just Zainoed the stang today and i dont feel like messing w/ it much anymore this week. I've already replaced the front brakes this week and I'm going to have to get a new a/c clutch pulley tomorrow :( more $$ to spend!! it makes a really horible noise now, so i need to get that fixed tomorrow. grrr.....so much im doing to the GT this week!!! LOL

Ford is smart. They don't want to issue a recall on these IAC valves because they know that there is something wrong with em. Everyone and there moms and grandmoms will be lined up at the Ford dealership demanding new IAC's. They are saving a shiit load of money right now.

Yeah, I know that's how it works. Our cars are supposedly rich from the factory so leaning it makes sense. I agree though, it seems to be a hit or miss mod. Oh, I ran a 13.706 @ 100 with just C&L MAF and Pro 5.0 shifter. It worked for me :)

I wish I had gotten my car dyno'd stock, and dyno'd after every mod. But the money wasn't there.

And making a lot, I paid $90 for my IAC at that Ford dealer.
No NAPA near me when it died and I worked so I couldn't go buy a cheaper one and return it to Ford. blah.

do auto parts places like auto zone carry FoMoCo IAC's???? if it goes out again i will just buy one there and save a few bucks
People said NAPA carried it for $54... I just checked at AutoZone.com, it looks like they have them for ~$52. But not at my local store, only available online.

but yeah, I don't think they are real FoMoCo parts, I think it's a different brand. But half the price...

Yeah Autzone do carry them. I believe it's like 60 buck or so. I called around and priced them. Do keep in mind that it an electrical part. Regardless if you installed it or not, they will not refund your money if you really didn't need a new one. Be sure, before you buy one, that your old one is no good and needs a replacement. Just my 2 cents.
