JonJon, I do not doubt your experience. But, you are a rare case, I think with the C&L. In my case, it leaned the car soo much, it was mis-firing.
You do understand how this mod works, right? It is designed to lean the mix by 30%. You must have been running rich before. BTW, what was your A/F if you don't mind me asking.

Yeah I feel ya. There was so much I did to my Stang this weekend, I don't even want to think of touching it. Atleast not until this coming weekend. No NAPA near me when it died and I worked so I couldn't go buy a cheaper one and return it to Ford. blah.
People said NAPA carried it for $54... I just checked at AutoZone.com, it looks like they have them for ~$52.
