help me find a good setting for shocks/struts

I've started to get more into road racing and what im trying to figure out is if it is better to have them alittle softer, instead of having them on the hardest setting possible. ( im kind of a noob to road racing ) what should i set them at to get the best cornering possible. fronts are 4 way adjustable rears are 8 way adjustable...thanks guys.

I am 100% a drag racer. Dont road race or even take corners hard, but I will give my insight and reasons for it...

I woud say dont go on the firmest setting, but keep it on one of the firm ones. If the car has zero body roll, to me it seems like the tires are going to slide. Without the weight transfering onto the outer tires, I think the car would lose traction faster. My guess is want some body roll to get the weight out over the outer tires, but not enough to hinder the cornering...

If I am wrong, tell me. If not, nice!!!

thanks, all the advice i can get is welcome. i tried playing with it alittle today and i put it one a firm setting but not the hardest and it seemed to do pretty well but im not sure if it made that much of a differance. i should probably get subframes before i set my shocks and struts though.

Yes get subframes. No matter what you do suspension wise if the car itself is twisting up, your not going to see the best results and its not going to take long before bad things start to happen. Also thinks like tower braces (shock and strut tower) help a good deal in keeping the car still, and handeling well.

i have a 4pt strut tower brace and also have the one tha goes from one side of the k member to the other ( the one under the car, not the sway bar) im blanking on the name of it though.

Ahh, well you definately have a good start. My say would be talk to guys doing events...
